A tourist magnet in Bad Kissingen's rose garden It is not without reason that Lower Franconian's Bad Kissingen is nicknamed "the city of roses". Thousands of flowering rosebushes are a magnificent sight every summer in the rose garden at the regent building. A huge multimedia fountain at the centre of the complex captivates its audience.
For locals and guests
While the spa garden was only reserved for paying guests, the "Rosarium", which was opened in 1913, was specially designed for the citizens of Bad Kissingen. Today, everyone benefits from the complex that has been renovated many times. When you look at the more than 200 varieties of roses, it is easy to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind you and to simply enjoy the moment. At the Balthasar Neumann promenade, ice cream parlours and cafés invite people out for a stroll to linger, and on the Franconian Saale, an excursion boat takes you from the Rose Garden through the river meadows up to the Gradierbau and the Museum Obere Saline.
Germany's only multimedia fountain
The spectacular multimedia fountain at the centre of the rose garden is not only popular with photographers. Several times a day you can marvel at beautiful water choreographies where the fountains 'dance' to different pieces of music. On several days a week, a projector show projects atmospheric pictures onto a "screen" with thousands upon thousands of water droplets after nightfall.
